This year's prairie festival will highlight the photography of Michael Forsberg, who will be presenting his new book, Great Plains: America's Lingering Wild. There will also be displays by local artists, educational prairie tours, and, of course, our beautiful prairie at dusk. Bring a picnic dinner and join us for a night of fun and prairie exploration!

Event Schedule
  • 5:00 p.m. - Festival opens
    • Ice cream/lemonade stand opens (Picnicking is encouraged — no other food will be available.)
    • Michael will sign copies of his new book.
  • 6:00-8:00 p.m. - Prairie Appreciation Trail open (artists, wildflower walks, wetland and insect explorations, bird banding, kite making and flying, and more)
  • 8:00 p.m. - Evening Program
    Michael will present an outdoor program featuring images from his book with music, followed by a short question and answer session.

  • 8:45-10:00 p.m. - Sundown Trail open
    • Blacklighting for insects
    • Night sky viewing with the Prairie Astronomy Club
Admission is $5/person, children (12 and under) are free. Adults who carpool will each receive $1 off their admission. Building and main performance area are handicap-accessible.
