Education Building Rental Information

The education building at Spring Creek Prairie Audubon Center is available to rent for meetings, weddings, and other social gatherings. The building is available year-round, except major holidays. Call (402) 797-2301 for availability and prices.

A. Education Room (~ 1,000 sq. ft.)



  • Available for half-day (maximum 5 hours) and full-day events (minimum 5 1/2 hours), before, during, and after regular business hours. (Regular business hours: 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, 1:00-5:00 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.)
  • Tables (20), chairs (80), LCD projector, screen, and full kitchen available.
  • Capacity: 100 people for theater seating, 64 people at tables (renter will supply extra tables and chairs).
  • Reduced rates for nonprofit organizations.

B. Ethel S. Abbott Grand Prairie Hall (~1,400 sq. ft.)

       
  • Not available during business hours (8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, 1:00-5:00 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays).
  • Tables (20), chairs (80), full kitchen available (renter will supply extra tables and chairs).
  • Capacity: 100 people for theater seating, 64 people at tables.

C. Entire Education Building

  • Not available during business hours (8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, 1:00-5:00 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays).
  • Tables (20), chairs (80), LCD projector, screen, and full kitchen available (renter will supply extra tables and chairs).

Reservation and Cancellation Policy

All reservations require a signed contract and $100 deposit to reserve requested space, date, and time. This deposit will be applied toward total rental fee upon a satisfactory inspection after the event.

Refund Policy: Deposits will be refunded to renters who cancel building reservations at least three weeks prior to the scheduled event date. SCPAC will retain the deposits of reservations canceled within three weeks of the scheduled event date.

  • Renter will be responsible for all clean-up.
  • SCPAC is a nature center, not a banquet hall. We are pleased to make it available for special events but the priority is our conservation work. Exhibits, grounds, and habitat must remain undisturbed.
  • For after-hours rentals, building must be vacated by 11:00 p.m.
  • Alcoholic beverages can be served; sale of alcohol requires a liquor license.
  • Meals can be catered or brought in by the renter.
  • Coffee makers available upon request (renter must provide coffee).
  • Kitchen includes stove, refrigerator, microwave, and dishwasher (limited quantities of dishware/silverware on hand).
  • Walking trails available.
  • Music must be kept to a low volume (acoustic, no amplifiers).
